Celebrating a Cottagecore Easter

I don’t know about you, but I can hardly believe that this weekend is Easter. Every year, the first few months fly by, faster and faster, and before I know it, it’s fall again. Easter (and spring, in general) has quickly become one of my favourites times of the year (following very closely behind fall!) – between the warm weather, the garden full of life, and baby farm animals, spring is truly such a magical time of the year for me.
One thing that I love to keep in mind for seasonal decor is how well it can function throughout the year as well. I am very limited on storage space, so things need to work for multiple times of the year. All of these items are things that I would have out to enjoy throughout multiple seasons, especially into the summer months, but many items also work in the fall and winter as well!

The Perfect Decor
Though I’m a gingham lover year-round, this bright, sunny yellow gingham tablecloth – it really just screams spring to me. I love to pair that with other natural fibres like wood and jute, and mixing patterns together like these gorgeous cloth napkins that feature a floral pattern, and the cutest floral egg cups. Set the table with my favourite green plates from Fable, the cutest beeswax carrot candles, and these delicate coupe glasses for a colourful and cottage-inspired table. Of course, you can’t forget the flowers!
Fresh Floral Arrangements
It’s spring, so of course, bouquets of fresh, springtime florals is a must! There are so many truly gorgeous flowers that are up in the spring – some of which, I used to not like… I’m looking at your daffodils. If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few of my favourite in-season blooms: Tulips, daffodils, narcissus, hyacinths, ranunculus, anemones and lilacs.
Whether you’re looking to mix up the bouquets with a combination of many springtime blooms, or you’re happy to stick to lots of one variety, you’re sure to have absolutely gorgeous, and beautifully scented centrepieces. One of my favourite ways to display flowers is in thrifted vases, or for a really sweet, cottage feel; in pitchers!
Sips & Snacks
Whether you’re serving breakfast, lunch or dinner (or some combination of multiple!), serving delicious food and drinks is a must! For drinks, one of my favourite ways to set up a serve-yourself situation is to fill a metal bin with ice, and display some canned drinks for people to choose from, in addition to a signature drink in a drink dispenser. To really finish off the look, have a selection of edible flowers such as pansies (just make sure they are in fact the edible variety!), lavender or lilac.
When it comes to food, I’m a big believer that people eat with their eyes first, so beautifully displaying lots of colourful food is a must for me. I personally love to serve a combination of berries like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries together in a ceramic berry bowl to make them feel like they were freshly picked and rinsed in the garden. Another favourite for foods includes Easter-inspired crudités and treats like these stuffed pepper “carrots”, and a forever-favourite of mine, cinnabunnies!
Another popular Easter tradition is dying eggs, and while I love that, I think eggs already come in beautiful colours! If farm-fresh eggs are available to you, you can find tons in shades of white, brown, pinks, blues and greens. Simply hard boil them and serve for an in-season treat.
Easter has become a real favourite of mine over the last couple of years as I’ve found myself loving more and more cottage-inspired things; there’s so much crossover between the two, including the adorable baby animals, some of my favourite colours & of course, farm-fresh foods!
