What’s In My Cart for a (Cozy) Cottagecore Autumn
Hello again, August! Though I have had a wonderful, but busy summer, there’s no denying how the feeling of autumn is pulling me in once again. As the days get ever so slightly shorter, the breeze a little cooler, and the the official start of the fall season is on the horizon, I’m once again getting so excited to start planning outfits and enjoying the cooler weather. Though summer fashion feels the most me, there’s nothing I love more than being cozy and wrapped up in a warm sweater and scarf while strolling through an apple orchard.

Cozy Sweaters
I think this one kind of goes without saying, but nothing says “fall is here” quite like a cozy sweater, and my collection is in no way, shape or form lacking. A big sweater and I go together like peanut butter and jelly, and I intend to keep it that way! Whether it’s a zip up for a fall hike, a pull over to get cozy and read on the couch, or a cable knit sweater to pair with leggings and knee high boots, big cozy sweaters are a must!
Denim (and lots of it!)
Denim is something that’s in my closet year-round. In the summer, it’s cut offs & overalls, in the spring it’s a denim jacket, in the fall and winter, it’s lots of denim jeans and button downs. Though I wouldn’t classify jeans as the most comfortable thing to wear, they' really can make a fall outfit look a little more elevated, and like you tried when you got up that morning in comparison to throwing on a pair of leggings. I also live in my denim chambray button down during this time of year as well – it looks great with leggings, skirts & jeans!
Accessories
I can confidently say I’ve never met an accessory I didn’t like. Whether it’s the perfect fall scrunchie, a newsboy hat or even a big scarf, I am a big believer that accessories can take your outfit from meh, to perfection. This also includes jewelry and handbags as well!
Footwear
I know I’m starting to age when I see things like ballet flats making a come back and think, “I used to wear those all the time… they’re cool again?”. But ballet flats are making a comeback over the last couple of years, and frankly, I love to see it. In addition to flats, I love rocking a pair of knee high rain boots year round (which probably comes as no shock if you’ve been here before!), and of course, my Blundstone boots and I go everywhere together the moment the weather is just a little brisk.
Flannel
Last, but certainly not least, another item that I live in come the fall is a flannel. Especially in the beginning weeks of fall, when it’s still kind of warm in the afternoons, and layering is key, I love to add a flannel over a t-shirt for when it’s crisp in the morning, but I know I’ll be sweating soon. I also tend to keep a flannel on hand for fall gardening because I get toasty quite quickly!
So there you have it! Everything that’s in my cart for the upcoming fall season. Though summer fashion has become my favourite, fall will always be the season that has my heart. There’s nothing quite like sipping on a morning coffee outside, and spending time in nature during the fall, surrounded by colourful leaves…
