My Summer 2025 Bucket List
Summer is officially here, and you know what that means? It’s time to think about all of the fun summer activities I want to add to my bucket list! Every season, I like to try and think of a few things that I’d love to do throughout those three months – I have a bad habit of always looking forward to the next season while in the throws of the current one, and I find creating a list of fun things to do helps me to not wish away the three short months we get of each season! Let’s talk about all of the things on my summer 2025 bucket list…
01. Spend Time at the Cottage
I know I say this every year, but spending more time at the cottage during the summer is just necessary! Especially if you’ve read pretty much any Carley Fortune book, spending time by the lake in the summer is just such a vibe. Plus, who doesn’t love to get away, and spend some time in nature for weekend?
02. Read (at least) 10 Summer Books
It’s safe to say I have a solid lead on this bucket list item already! My overall reading goal for this year is 24 books, and I am currently at 18, about to finish my 19th. Out of those (almost) 19, 8 of them are summer books, so it’s safe to say I will likely hit my goal of (at least) 10 summer books this year. In all likelihood, I’ll attempt to make it to 12 before September just for good measure.
03. Bike More, Drive Less
So far, I feel like I’ve done decently with this! Unless it’s a very long distance, there’s been a lot of biking this summer! Not only has it been a lot of fun, I’ve felt myself get a bit more in shape, and it’s better for the planet. I just absolutely adore my bike too, so it’s always fun to take Betty out (yes, I named her Betty).
04. Learn to Bake New Treats
So far this summer, I’ve made homemade lemonade, strawberry jam and a loaf of bread (see the recipe I use here), but I’ve got a list of more treats I’d like to make this summer including a delicious sheet pan strawberry shortcake! I’m hoping I can find some time to go pick my own berries for it too.
05. Go for a Picnic
Is there anything that screams summer more than a picnic?! Well, there probably is… but for me, a picnic is such a quintessential summer experience. I love daydreaming about sprawling out on a blanket with a little wicker basket, light summer snacks and reading my book while enjoying the summer weather.
06. Create a Cut Flower Bouquet from the Garden
If you’ve read my blog before, it probably comes as no surprise to see something gardening related here. As always, I’m growing a cut flower garden, and creating fun, colourful bouquets is one of the best parts of summer. We had a bit of a weird spring, so everything is further behind than usual, but I’m so excited for some late summer blooms and bouquets this year!
So there you have it, my summer 2025 bucket list! What are you hoping to do this summer? Let me know in the comments below!
