My Favourite Simple Living Accounts to Follow

Is there anything better than the thought of slow, and simple living? I mean, I’m sure for many people there is, but for me, I daydream about being able to spend hours in the garden, sipping on my morning coffee in the late spring morning sun, and creating a new embroidery piece to hang in my home. No hustle and bustle, no constant feeling of being in a rushed state, or wondering how the whole day slipped through my fingers. Living simply in this modern world requires intention, and I find myself often throwing myself into the worlds of people who also emulate this intention, and inspiring myself to emerge myself into it a bit more where I can. Here are a few of my favourite creators and accounts to follow that inspire me to continue a small, slow, simple life.

01. HANNAH ADKINS

Hannah Adkins is a creator based in the Cotswolds, UK. I came across her from another creator, and primarily watch her content on YouTube. I love how slow, and simple her days are, coupled with the beautiful English countryside scenery, and quaint village shops, it’s hard not to just relax, and enjoy an afternoon tea while watching her videos.

02. SISTERS SHARING STYLE

Another Cotswolds-based account that I’ve loved following is Sisters Sharing Style. I primarily enjoy their content on Instagram, but they also have a YouTube channel where they share some short-but-inspiring videos of their lives in the Cotswolds.

03. OUR LITTLE BRICK COTTAGE

Another account that I love is Our Little Brick Cottage, also based in England (do you sense a theme here? I love cottagecore style, but particularly English-style cottagecore!). Their Instagram feed features so many cozy, warm-toned photos of their home in the English countryside, it just makes me want to curl up with a cup of tea!

04. DAINTY DIARIES

Switching it up from the English content creators is Dainty Diaries, who is based in Ireland! Her garden truly is a dream, and I aspire to have a gorgeous outdoor space like this one day. I came across her account through her YouTube Channel, but her Instagram is equally as stunning!

05. ABODERIE

And we’re back to the UK with Aboderie! I can’t quite remember when and how I came across her account, but I was hooked when I saw how many handmade projects and DIYs she shared on her page. Not only are they crafty, and fun, but they’re also eco-conscious.

06. MONALOGUE

Last, but certainly not least, is yet again, another UK-based creator, Ramona Jones of Monalogue. I have been following to enjoy the views of their gorgeous English cottage garden for a couple of years now, but I recently started watching their YouTube channel as well. If you want cottage garden inspiration, Ramona is your go-to!

My Favourite Slow Living Businesses

I know that most of this blog is about creators that I love in the slow living space, but I have to give a shoutout to a couple of brands that I look to for inspiration, not only just in the lifestyle part of slow living, but also in my home decor!

01. COUNTRY LIVING UK

Yes, like the magazine! I absolutely love Country Living UK – they are my go-to place to look for English-style cottagecore home decor inspiration, and I’ve even recently come across their Instagram page for artisans as well (a special shoutout to Hogben Pottery as one of the artisans, and businesses that I love to follow!).

02. PIGLET IN BED

And I couldn’t finish this blog without mentioning one of my all-time favourite businesses (also based in the UK, oops!), Piglet in Bed. Not only do they have the most gorgeous bedding and PJs I’ve ever seen, but they’re also made from linen. I love that they have sustainability and natural materials in mind when creating their products.

Who are some of your favourite slow living/cottagecore-inspired accounts to follow? I’m always open to following more creators and businesses in these spaces, so drop your suggestions in the comments below!

Until next time... Emily
