Wow… it’s November already. This year has truly gone by in the blink of an eye, and also really, really slowly at the same time! It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to talk about the holiday season, but we are now officially less than two months from the big day, and it is time to get shopping! As always, my first gift guide of the year features Canadian small shops that I absolutely love to support year round, but especially during the holiday season. I’ve got everything from clothing, accessories, pet care and even gardening brands featured below… happy shopping!

After experiencing my first major loss this year, having a piece of cremation jewelry with my loved ones ashes in it was a key part of navigating my grief – enter, Gems & Juniper. Not only are the pieces stunning, but the owner, Tiffany, took such great care in letting me know when the ashes arrived, and being so responsive through the whole process. She also has breast milk jewelry items as well as regular, every day jewelry items if you’re not in the market for cremation pieces.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like press on nails have become incredibly popular because they’re so much better for your nails, and they allow you to switch up your nails easily! Plus, who doesn’t want to save money & time? Quickies has some of my favourite press on nail options out there (my personal favourite is the strawberry print ones, but I am begging them for a short option of these!).

If you’re looking for beautiful, printed-in-Canada wallpaper, I cannot recommend Rocky Mountain Decals enough! Full transparency, they gifted me some peel & stick wallpaper earlier this year, but I’m by no means obligated to promote them in this blog – I really do just love their wallpaper. Whether you want traditional, or peel & stick wallpaper, they’ve got tons of designs for every style, and it’s so easy to install!

The best part is it’s another item I get to dress up in cute cases, but I struggled to find a Canadian business to purchase cute cases from until I came across TLDR the shop! My only recommendation is to be ready when the restocks happen cause they sell out quick.

I came across Nadine’s art after being introduced to her other business when she was a part of a Jillian Harris & Etsy collaboration back in 2018. Not only is her work absolutely stunning, but there’s so many options to pick from!

Another candle company on the list that I just love is Shy Wolf Candles, and I came across their brand on Instagram last year! What caught my eye, you ask? Unsurprisingly, her Taylor Swift-inspired collection! I personally have the All Too Well candle, but I’ve also purchased her other Taylor-inspired candles as gifts, and they all smell so good!

If you’re someone who loves to keep the environment in mind, or you’re shopping for someone who feels this way, why not gift a Pela Case phone case this holiday season? I love that their cases are entirely compostable, and made in Canada, so I can feel good knowing my phone is protected, my case won’t sit in a landfill one day and I’m supporting my local economy. Right now, I have the Seashell Pasture Party case because I love farm animals, so this is perfect for me!

Another amazing pet-focused brand I’ve loved through the years is Pooch & Tabby, which has the most beautiful fabric collars for dogs & cats. There are tons of fabric options, colours and patterns, and there’s even Rifle Paper Co. designs, and there’s even options between black, nickel and brass hardware, as well as the option to get a matching leash!

Have you ever tried to wash your dog’s paws? It’s not easy, but Dandylion has made that process so much easier! Not only do they sell the coolest products that are so simple to use, but they look beautiful, and they sell refills, making it a really sustainable option as well. My personal favourite is the paw balm since my guy gets really dry paws.

Last, but certainly not least is Cheeky Berner Co.! I must admit, having a Berner myself, the name of this shop pulled me in, and the owner has some Berners of her own (duh)! If you’re looking for seasonal, or even the most beautiful neutral bandanas, this shop is your go-to place to find what you’re looking for! I have one of their gorgeous neutral bandanas for Freddie, and I think it’s easily my favourite bandana for him to wear, year-round.
Antonio Valente Flowers

One of my go-to places to purchase seeds, bulbs and corms (ranunculus & anemones) is from Antonio Valente Flowers! Based in the GTA, I’ve purchased so many items over the years from this business including ranunculus corms, anemone corms, tulip bulbs, snapdragon seeds & stock seeds, all of which have grown with great success!
Roam Flora

Another farm that I regularly purchase from is Roam Flora. I’ve mostly purchased dahlia tubers from this farm, and this past year, I actually ended up purchasing 10 different varieties, all of which we had incredible success with!

Whistling Prairie Flowers is probably the farm that I purchase the most seeds from! Over the last few years, I’ve gotten so many seeds from them including stock, statice, snapdragons, zinnias and cosmos. There is a wide variety of colours to choose from in almost every flower offering, and the seed packets are so cute!
Sproutbox Garden

If you’re looking for a metal raised garden bed, look no further than Sproutbox Garden! We purchased our first one in 2023, got it all set up for the 2024 season and we loved it so much that we ended up purchasing a second one for the 2025 growing season. I love that they’re a Canadian based company as many of the metal raised bed companies are based in the US!
