How to Make a Cozy Autumn Simmer Pot
Is there anything better than the scents of fall? In my humble opinion, absolutely not. Though my style and hobbies are typically better suited for the spring & summer months, fall & winter in all of their coziness are the seasons that truly have my heart. I love to wake up, and enjoy a little pumpkin spiced coffee in October with the winds wide open, smelling the falling leaves, especially if it’s after a rainfall… if you get it, you get it! So, it probably comes as no surprise that I also love a little autumn-inspired simmer pot.
If you’ve never made a simmer pot before, it’s really quite simple! It’s just a combination of water, and fresh, natural ingredients and you let it simmer on the stove, filling your home with those scents. It’s a nice alternative to artificial room sprays given that it’s completely naturally scented, and it lasts much longer. Personally, I tend to get a little sneezy with artificial sprays, and even sometimes essential oils, so this is a great option for me. The only downside is that since it is sitting on your stove, you definitely cannot leave this unattended, and should frequently check to make sure you don’t need to add more water.
